Our
Adventures @ The
Canadian War Museum
by Sebastien

Hi, it's me Sebastien. I
just got back
from a new adventure that I wanted to tell you all about.
Mommy
and
Daddy took Sacha and me to the Army Man "nuseum". Daddy says
it's
really called the Canadian War Museum. It's a brand new
"nuseum"
that only opened a week ago. There
was
lots
of neat things to see...

- a Sebby salute -

- wow look in here -

- a ship for my tub -

- Sacha can be the ship's captain -

- Mommy & Me -

- I'm hiding in the trenches -

- a big army tank-

-Sacha enjoying the museum-

- ready to fire -

- going for a ride in the army truck -

Learning about the cold war - what's that noise?
(don't look up)

- hmmm, how does this work? -

Here's some of the other neat stuff we saw..

Although the "nuseum" was lots of fun, there
was a
serious side
too...
The displays also helped me understand why war is bad. I was
sad to learn that the bad soldiers in WWII and their leader, this bad
man
called Hitler, hurt lots of people. Daddy explained to me
that
they
tried not only to kill all the Jewish peoples, but also people who were
different (like my brother Sacha). It seems they felt the
people
like my brother Sacha had no value because he is disabled.
That
made
us very sad, because we know our Sacha has value, despite the things he
can't do.
Thankfully, we have many brave Canadian army mans who
protected us and
fought to stop this bad man. Unfortunately, many of our
soldiers
died doing so...

There are many gravestones like this in Europe
for all the Canadian army mans that died.

Here's a small version of our national war memorial. The real
one is near the parliament buildings, here in Ottawa. It's
where
we go every November 11th to remember the brave army mans that fought
to
protect us.

This is a photo of the Regeneration Hall,
It is supposed to inspire hope
for a more peaceful future.

As you can see we enjoyed our trip to the "army man nuseum", and
also learned a few things too. I'll be sure to write again
soon,
because Mommy & Daddy have lots planned now that the nice
weather
has
arrived.
