My Trip to the Firefighters' Museum

by Sebastien

Hi, it's me again- Sebastien.  I just came back from my latest adventures.  I was very busy travelling way down south from our house near Belleville and Kingston.  Before leaving, Daddy did some looking on the internet (because he's always on it), and found me a new "nuseum" to visit.  It wasn't just any "nuseum" it was a FIREMAN"nuseum".  It's in this town called Port Hope, which isn't far from where my "Pepe" lives.  I was so excited to go see fireman stuff, because (if you don't already know) I'm obsessed with it.  My mommy says I'm a "fireman savant" - whatever that means.

(as you can see - I dressed for the occasion)
There were so many things to see at the museum.  They had pretty much everything that firemans use - extinguishers, hoses, radios, helmets, air masks, and of course fire trucks...

Of course, since it was a "nuseum" the fire trucks aren't the fancy kind that they drive now-days.  They had old trucks and even the horse drawn wagon kinds like they drove in my grandparents time (the 1800's)...

Sacha really enjoyed my telling him all about what firemans do - like rescue people, putting out fires, and washing the trucks.

I had fun pretending to send the fire truck to their emergencies.  I got on the radio and told them to remain calm (firemans are always cool under pressure)...

I really enjoyed pretending to be a fireman while I was there.  They even had real firemans clothes that you could try on.  After I showed everyone how to properly wear their fire gear - they all wanted to be firemans just like me!

Although you aren't supposed to get on the exhibits at a "nuseum", daddy said it would be okay, since I'm a real fireman -but only for a minute.  Pepe was our "look-out" in case the lady in charge came.

As you can see, I had a super good time at the "Canadian Firemans Nuseum".  Here's a group photo we took before leaving...

After that I was quickly off on another adventure that I'll write to you about very soon.  Daddy figured there were too many for one e-mail so I decided to split them up.  Stay tuned!

Bye
