Hi,
it's me Sebastien again. I wanted to tell you about the rest of
my
day at the Montreal Botanical Garden (known as the Jardin Botanique by
us locals). After we left the "bug nuseum" we went and explored
all
the flowers and stuff in the gardens. Our first stop was the Japanese
garden.
It was really neat because it looked just like it does in Japan.

They had these neat little trees there that were so
small they
grow in flower pots. Daddy says they're called Bonsai trees and
they're
really old. Here's a few that we saw...

There were lots of neat things to see too. There I
am pointing
out the fish in the pond, then mommy and I took some time to smell the
roses.

After that, we went to the Chinese garden. This
was daddy's
favourite section. He really found it to be beautiful. Even
the water was an amazing greenish-blue colour.
They had also built lots of neat Chinese looking
buildings.
Daddy said something about being hungry for a combo #5 (whatever that
means).

There was also lots of nice flowers at the garden. I
kept wanting
to pick some for mommy, but it seems that's a big "no-no" at this
garden.
Oh well, I guess she'll have to be content with those yellow flowers
that
keep growing in our back lawn. Here's a few photos daddy took of
the pretty flowers (he gets this from Grandma Butler I'm told)...

We also got to go in these big green houses.
They aren't
really green, they're more like glass houses. Flowers and plants
grow in there all year - even in the winter. It was like being in
a tropical rainforest because they had all kinds of neat plants in
there.
We saw a banana tree, mommy smelled some orchids, and we
checked
out a pineapple tree

After the jungle section, we went to see the desert
section. That's
where they had all of those prickly cactuses like you see on the road
runner
cartoons.

they sure look like they would hurt - ouch!

After the cactuses we went to this section called "Flower
Power".
Mommy says that Grandpa Standing would like it because it would remind
him of his trip to some concert called "Woodstock" back in 60's.

Peace !

Sacha liked this section too!
We went back to the gardens outside. Daddy
wanted to
get fancy with his camera and take a few photos of us.

a few "Kodak" moments with mommy

Once daddy was done pretending to be a "real" photographer, we
went
to explore the "first nations" garden. Daddy explained to me that
"first nations" means the Indians peoples that lived in Canada before
us
French peoples showed up.

we even saw a big bird called a heron
To finish the day off, I had a quick play on some
playground stuff.

Then we had to go back to our house. Mommy felt
guilty
and wanted to go do some garden weeding, as daddy kept mumbling about
stopping
for a combo #5. I hope you liked my adventure. I'm taking a break
to let my parents go work and save up a few dollars before we begin
more
adventure in August. I'll be sure to write about them when we get
back...
