Today,
mommy and daddy took me and Sacha to Montreal. We went up a
mountain
in the middle of the city called Mont Royal. When we got to the
top
we went to a lake called "Lac aux Castors" (or Beaver Lake for you
English
people). There were lots of gold fish and ducks there. I
wanted
to catch a gold fish for supper, but daddy said they didn't taste so
good
(maybe next time).
Then we took a walk around this big park called the "Parc du Mont Royal". There was lots of people enjoying the nice weather. Mommy took me to this place that she used to go to as a little girl, so that I could try my hand at a little rock climbing. She helped me get to the top, while daddy and Sacha waited at the bottom.
After that, I was tired and need a little rest. Mountain climbing is hard work.
Then we went to this place that overlooked all of Montreal. I told daddy that I could see all the way to New York. We were that high up. We stopped for a family photo while we were there.
We had a great view of the whole city from up there. It was "way way up high high"...
After that, we did some more walking, until we got to this big cross that they light up at night on the top of the mountain. It's so big that you can see it everywhere in Montreal at night. I wanted to climb up it, but daddy said "no". ![]() The big cross We walked some more, and finally stopped to take a break at this place that we could see the other side of Montreal. We had a great view of this place called St Joseph's Oratory. Mommy says they sing church songs there... ![]() that's me with St Joseph's Oratory in the background
Then we went to this other place where you could see the Olympic Stadium where they had the Olympics way back when my grandparents weren't old... Us locals call it the Big O, and for now the Expos play there. Daddy says he'll take me up the tower beside it soon. I'll be sure to have him send you some photos.
Finally we headed home. I was really tired from all the walking. Mountain climbing isn't easy you know. Daddy was nice enough to make one last stop though..... for ice cream !!!!
That's all for now, love Sebastien |
